Opera Sustenida presents: “Date with the Divas”
Travel through time with the divas as we revisit the roots of our beloved art form. In “Date with the Divas,” we’ll explore how opera evolved from Monteverdi to Mozart with beautiful arias and ensembles from our favorite operas of the Baroque and Classical eras!
All of our videos will be pre-recorded and staged to recreate a live opera experience. We’ll include live segments throughout the evening where we’ll discuss some of the differences between these musical styles.
As always, you’ll be able to interact with the Divas live during the performance – all of which can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home!

Opera Sustenida presents: “Divas for Hire!!”
In our very first event, “Divas for Hire!!,” we pushed the boundaries of the traditional concert format. For this unique concert, we created pre-recorded videos of opera favorites using innovative virtual staging techniques to “interact” with each other on screen. We also included live Q&A segments where we answered pre-submitted questions from our audience members.

The Telephone / La voix humaine (Menotti / Poulenc)
Opera Sustenida‘s own Nicole Whitney Dubinsky (coloratura soprano) sings the role of Lucy in Menotti’s light-hearted one-act opera The Telephone.
Nicole describes Lucy as a “sweet young lady whose one weakness is that she can’t ignore the telephone. This one failing almost costs her BIG TIME!”
Johnathon Kirby (bass-baritone) performs the role of Ben, Lucy’s [fortunately very patient] boyfriend.
Rachel Krehm (soprano) performs the role of Elle in Poulenc’s La voix humaine.
